Paddy Power’s previous television advertising campaigns have often come under scrutiny, often earning them warnings from the ASA, advertising standards agency. Previously the complaints have been generated from the Casino and Sports Betting adverts.

Those complaints were due to a woman being unable to wait until her family left the house so she could start playing. The connotations of which led some to suggest that it may appear she is hiding a gambling addiction.Though this advert is a little along the same lines, the emphasis is more on the lady wanting some ‘girl time’ alone to meet up with her friends. 

The adverts startswith a Facebook page and a voiceover informing viewers that this lady ‘Sian Davis’ wrote on her Facebook about how the girls are due to come round for bingo and a chat but that her husband is in the way. The husband is shown reclining in his easy chair while she fakes a smile and then rolls her eyes with sigh. 

The voiceover asksrhetorically if Sian has not heard about the ‘Husband Removal Service’, as the doorbell chimes. Upon Sian answering the door, she is greeted by two similar looking portly shaped men in matching blue overalls over their shirt and pink tie combination outfits. 

‘Husband?’ they enquire. ‘That way’ she points. The startled husband is shouting ‘Get off me!’ in alarm, as the lookalike removal men wrestle tape over his mouth and secure him to the chair. They remove the glass window behind him neatly with suction cups and place a giant plunger on his head as the removers wish him a ‘safe flight’. He is then catapulted him into the waiting van, where he lands amongst other captured husbands.

Grandmother scoops £66,508 win at Ladbrokes Bingo

As Bradbury has unfortunately suffered ill health in the past, this money is sure to bring a higher level of comfort and provide her with an easier lifestyle to better take care of her health.

The surprise win came just ahead of the winner’s daughter turning 40 later this month and Bradbury has made plans to celebrate the event in style with an extravagant party to mark the occasion. Further plans include affording her husband the luxury of early retirement sooner than they had planned.
